Welcome to LATCH Christmas Cards. Clown Visit

LATCH is a voluntary organisation set up to support the special requirements of the children’s oncology centre at the Children’s Hospital for Wales, to help affected families and promote research into childhood cancer. The Charity first established in 1982, currently has five branches throughout Wales and is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the children as they change continuously with new treatment techniques and new equipment being made available.

Our primary aim is to ease the journey of the children and their families during the months, and in many cases years, of difficult and painful treatment. Practical and emotional support is provided, together with trips to Downing Street, Highgrove, Oakwood etc as well as many treats within the hospital surroundings, to help keep the children’s spirit up.

Living RoomLATCH provides accommodation within the hospital to help avoid family separation. The “home from home” facility offers a welcome break from the clinical environment of the ward. Siblings are able to stay at weekends and during the school holidays.
LATCH is dependent solely upon the public’s help to ensure that children with cancer and leukaemia in Wales get the best facilities available
